Upcoming Sittings and Sesshins
Please join us for a special sitting that comes around only twice a year. This is an opportunity for new and old practitioners alike to become intimate with Beginner’s Mind.
The sitting will be led by Carol Paul and Gerry Oliva and will run from 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
The fee is $15 or whatever you can afford.

Berkeley Zen Center will host a one-day sitting on Saturday, October 12. The schedule begins at 5:00am and ends at 5:30pm. The day initiates Berkeley Zen Center’s six week Aspects of Practice period and will be led by Greg Fain.

Berkeley Zen Center asks for a $35 donation for in person attendance and $15 for online attendance. (Or whatever you can afford.)
In person participation is limited to people who sign up for the full day. If you don’t signup, you may still join the lecture online.

Our Visiting Teachers
Shinchi Linda Galijan and Zenshin Greg Fain have joined BZC as visiting teachers.
Shinchi Linda Galijan was ordained as a Zen priest by Sojun Mel Weitsman in 2004 and received Dharma Transmission from him in 2012. She has been a professional musician and licensed clinical psychologist and has practiced Buddhism and yoga for over 30 years. Linda practiced at Tassajara for almost 10 years, including four years as the Director. She completed her service as President of San Francisco Zen Center at the beginning of 2021.
Zenshin Greg Fain got his first introduction to Zen at San Francisco Zen Center when he was 19, and has been training closely with Sojun Mel Weitsman Roshi, the Abbot of Berkeley Zen Center, for over 20 years. He was ordained as a Zen priest in 2002 and received Dharma Transmission in the lineage of Suzuki Roshi from Sojun Roshi in April 2012.
